spooky

Aaron and I are throwing a Halloween party this weekend. And it has been a long time since I've thrown an awesome theme party, so I need some help here! Any great Halloween party ideas? Treats, activities, etc.? (I don't even really know what people do at parties these days...?)

Also, costumes. Not being near my family I am sadly separated from some really great dress ups. What are you being for Halloween? (what costume idea can I steal from you?)

Any thoughts would be much appreciated! :)

(oh, and update on my last post. James Franco tickets are all sold out. So no James Franco for me. :( Boo.)

I think you and Aaron should be a themed couple like Carl and Ellie from Up or something. Think about how easy that'd be. You wrap a scarf around your head, put glasses on, and wear an apron. While Aaron wears suspenders and glasses. You guys could have balloons to carry around or attach to you if necessary. haha! Some other themed couples I can think of are: Mary Poppins and Bert. Elizabeth and Darcy. Indiana Jones and take your pick. Han Solo and Princess Leia. Walle and Eve. Mr & Mrs Incredible. Frankenstein and Creator. Romeo and Juliet. Cleopatra and Augustus? Lucy and Ricky. Brennen and Booth. Dwight and Angela.

For the party I would have Apple Cider, pumpkin carving, cupcake decorating, and I agree with @wildchild and check pinterest for some other party ideas for Halloween. You guys could have a dance party but that could get obnoxious and loud really fast, also I dont know how you grad students party... dancing could be beneath you now. hhaha!
You could always show a scary movie, or a classic "scary" movie (something like Hocus Pocus).

Good luck and sorry about the James Franco tickets!

I'm dressing up as a flapper girl this year. Little black dress I picked up at Target in the costume section, those cool tights with holes, black high heels, red lipstick, gloves that go to my elbows, and a feather in my hair. Easy. And I already had half the costume in my closet. You could do that and Aaron could wear a tux. :) Don't stress too much over party ideas. Just play some cool halloween music, buy or make some yummy Halloween treats and decorations, maybe find a movie to watch. Let the people mingle and go with the flow!

I think I want to dress up as glucose...or maybe sucrose or fructose would be more accurate. That way everyone around me will know what they are eating!

We are going to "mystery party" halloween party this weekend where everyone is given a role and we have to figure out who the murdered is. Should be fun!

Kind of a cop-out, but check out my Halloween board.Martha Stewart's website has tons of great ideas too. Also, ditto Jody about not stressing. Good food, music and people make any party awesome, and I know you'll have all 3!
