kitchen table! chairs! a couch! books!

The moving truck came earlier than we were expecting! And they knocked off $100!

(bad quality photo taken with photobooth. this is harder to do than i had expected.)

More photos to come once we get everything unpacked and reassembled.
Happy Saturday!

we got ourselves allied with the wrong moving company. heh, heh.

I feel very materialistic right now, but you know what, I want my stuff back. All the things we put in the moving truck, all of our furniture, the rest of my clothes (dress shoes! where did you go?), our kitchen gadgets, office supplies/printer, my books,* our tv, even our welcome mats! I want them all to fill our very empty and echo-y house.
And we were supposed to get them at the very latest by next week, July 25th. Instead, we will not be getting anything until August 2nd at the earliest! HELLO. The entire reason we packed up and left Provo and our families and friends so early in the summer was so our stuff could get here and we could unpack everything and get everything set up before Aaron starts med school. Now we're going to have like 3 days to do that in the best case scenario.

We want some compensation here, Allied. And you do not seem concerned at all that the actual arrival date of our things is at least OVER A WEEK later than the date we originally got. We are concerned, and we are freaking ticked.

The end.

*I've been reading Sense and Sensibility out of the beautiful 7 novel by Jane Austen collection my parents gave me for Christmas. I love me some Pride and Prejudice, but I can't get into this book at all. I am neither entertained nor intellectually stimulated by it. And I want our five boxes of books to get here so I can read about something else besides so and so's social engagements and frolics in the English countryside. Jane Austen lovers-defend?

OOohh, I'm feeling choleric today.

where did the time go?

Since I'm not working in a wet lab anymore and no longer come into contact with acetone (a potent nail polish remover), I have been painting my fingernails a different color almost every week. And it's been so fun! I've done dark purple/gold, deep blue sparkly, lighter deep blue, light pink, and bright red. I'm sort of in love with all of the taupe/gray/brown polish I've been seeing lately, though. Need to get my hands on some of that stuff. Also, matte nail polish! I'm curious about that!

In other news, Aaron and I are moving in 33 days. July 8th. People. This translates into 4 more weekends, 2 of which we will be gone in St. George or North Carolina. So two weekends open and available for playing until we move across the country! AHHHhhhhhHHHhhh!!! I sort of want to throw ourselves a goodbye barbecue at the park across the street from our apartment. Maybe like a big goodbye party for all of our friends who are taking off this summer for grad/med school too. Would you come? We provide the meat, condiments, buns, etc., you bring a side dish to share? I'm thinking maybe July 5th or 6th ish. More details forthcoming via facebook I'm sure.

firefly (aka I do enjoy post titles that have nothing to do with the post itself.)

I have moved.
Many thanks to Jeff, Josh, and my parents for helping carry my stuff across the parking lot from one building to the next. I'm really liking my new apartment. Why might you ask? For the benefit of Kellie and Laura who will in the future be joining me there let me elaborate.
Nicer flooring (the fake stone vinyl that's in A building)
Prettier (sort of) cabinets (off white instead of cocoa brown)
Black leather couches
Air conditioning
Bigger closets
TWO desks in every room instead of one (however, there's only one dresser...go figure...I'm going to get plastic drawers to stick under my bed for my excessive amount of clothing)

And this week I splurged a little bit at Target and bought a new 12" skillet (stainless steel with copper bottom, very pretty), and white bird salt and pepper shakers (so Martha Stewart) at the suggestion of Josh. I'm looking forward to an IKEA run sometime in the next week to get a kitchen shelving unit with hooks for pots and pans, a coat rack, and a couple of yards of fabric to sew some pillow coverings (I'm seriously on a domestic roll here).

I told my mom I knew I was an adult since I got so excited about pans.
Yep, I'm that awesome.

P.S. During the school year I want to do a foreign film night every so often since Laura and I are going in on a Netflix account/the International Cinema is just so darn accessible and fun.
You are all invited. :)
