so this is christmas

Aaron and I get a long Christmas break this year, and we took full advantage of that. My sister got home from her mission, so we got to Utah early enough to be there when she got to the airport.

Some of us were more excited than others that she's home.

 We ice skated.

 I cut off a lot of hair.

 We lasertagged. (I got 2nd place both games. YEAH.)

We took a snowy family photo and printed it out with the Andrus family motto and gave it to my dad for Christmas. Want to know the irreverent family motto?

"The Andrus Family: None better, damn few equal."

my reluctance to make hair appointments

I have been putting off getting my hair cut for about a year now (it's that bad) for three reasons:

1. Salons in Philly are expensive

2. I love how long my hair currently is

3. I hate talking to the stylist.

It's just, I have this weird thing where I always feel like the stylist is judging me for my lack of caring about my hair. I also hate the fake and forced conversation that inevitably accompanies my haircut. I once had a stylist complain to me about one of her clients bringing her textbook and just reading it the whole time she was getting her hair done. It was the week of finals...so YEAH I THINK SHE HAD MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO THAN CARRY ON A MEANINGLESS CONVERSATION WITH YOU. I'm paying you to cut my hair, not to be my bff. 

This could all stem from my dislike of talking to strangers. Maybe.

Oh, and I gone dyed my hair!

and took an indie shot of it. Also, do you like my black and white throw pillow? because I do, a lot.

Also, my body looks really oddly proportioned, like my arms are teeny and my hand and knees are enormous. I don't think this is entirely true in real life.

$100 later...have got to find a cheaper salon

Oh, and I cut my hair! 

And dyed it blonde again!

And it basically looks like this again, only with bangs:

And that sort of sums up how I feel right now.

...and I feel fine

So yesterday I dyed my hair blonde again and had a conservative trim with some new side bangs. They were just the right length to drive me insane, so on a whim inspired by the change of a new year and new decade...well...I told Becky to give me bangs.

I am happier with this look than my expression in the picture makes me seem.

I spent my New Year's Eve in high waist jeans, rocking half boots, and 3D glasses from "Avatar" (which, ps is visually stunning, awesome movie) that I punched the lenses out of and then proceeded to paint with sparkly nail polish.
And then I partied hard with ballroom and high school friends. What could be better than a game of murder in the dark/dancing to "It's the End of the World As We Know It" to ring in 2010?

mmmm wheat thins

Couple more things:

1. It is so uncomfortable to eat while half your mouth is numb.

2. I think I'm going to go back to being blonde before school starts.

a. this headband (got my cheapo version at forever xxi for $1.50)
b. flower hair clips
c. this movie (so, so cute! so, so funny!)
d. new hair, 3D glasses minus lens from c., and rootbeer popsicles
e. this scent from Victoria's Secret...
f. farmer's markets! (new discovery! they have one here, and Kellie and I got major deals on earrings and b.)
g. this boy :)

As of today at 2:00 I'll be following up on my "what should I do with my hair?" poll...

I'm dying it chestnut brown...and taking off a good 3-4 inches...

Man, I am on such a blogging roll lately.

I've been thinking it might be time for a hair change...

how about...brown?

Like Rory in the 7th season of "Gilmore Girls" brown?
Or maybe I should just cut it and touch up my roots. Thoughts? Hmm...I'm sensing a potential poll coming out of this...

Somewhere in Between

I think I want to cut my hair short, as in shoulder length short. I've got a hair appointment next week, so this is a time-conscious issue. Ideas:Thoughts?
