listening to my dad watch this movie was actually the best part

This was my favorite part in "The Hobbit":

Something about singing dwarfs just really speaks to my soul. Did you see it? Did you like it? I like Bilbo a lot more than I like Frodo. He's a cute hobbit. Also, isn't Galadriel great? I just love the elves. I wish they got more screen time.

Hurray for Christmas movie going!

Okay, I'm a BIG Hobbit fan so take what I say with a grain of salt...but I thought the movie was a mediocre adaptation of the book. It was a fun movie, very well done and beautiful, and the book will almost always be better than the movie, but I was disappointed that Peter Jackson stretched it out and included some very unnecessary material. I realize he wants to cram as much Middle Earth in as he can, but taking stuff from the Silmarillion just to add more to the movie was silly. You don't need 3 movies PJ. You just don't.
Side note: your favorite part of the movie was MY favorite part too. I get chills every dang time.

Yes, 3 movies is pretty excessive. I haven't read the book since middle school and am not a super huge fan (not that I didn't like it, just that I don't remember anything from it!), so book:movie correlation didn't bother me too much.

Seriously though, singing dwarves. Why do I love it so much?!
