I got a Zappos giftcard last Christmas from my mother-in-law, and I bought a pair of boots with it (after a month of deliberation), but they were the wrong size and I sent them back, and Zappos lost them in their warehouse, and it wasn't until August that I finally contacted them about getting my money back, and they gave me my money back and then upgraded me to free two day shipping. (Zappos and Amazon have the best customer service in the world.) But, now I'm back to square one on boots:
???
I just need them to be cute, waterproof, snowproof, and able to withstand me walking 3 miles a day several times a week in them. It's really not that much to ask.
(I kind of love those ridiculous yellow Big Bird fringe boots.)

Ooh! I love boots! I really like the bottom two pairs, and especially the top middle left (military-style boots). I've actually been looking for a pair like those -- good luck choosing!
winI really like the bottom 2 pairs as well. I have been looking for a pair like them.
I love the ones on the bottom right! They're super cute, and I'm pretty sure I almost got them when I was buying boots a month ago! :)
Haha! I love that comic. So true. Reviews are good and bad. Well, I would think that the almost knee high ones would match all of your criteria. Though the red ones and fold over wedges are cute. But I am still looking for a knee high boot (even though I bought a pair last year...but just something to tide me over, haha) so my opinion would be biased. But the taller ones definitely seem better for snow/waterproof. Also, when you do find the boot, do tell.
I like the bottom left! I'd avoid anything not leather or pleather. Any boots I've had that weren't haven't been waterproof, even though they all claim to be. Good luck!
I coud definitely see you in the yellow ones, but I love the bottom two brown pair as well.
Last year I spent 3 months deciding between two pair of boots...it feels like such a big decision!
I'm sure you've seen this, but just in case not: http://xkcd.com/1098/
You definitely need something waterproof. I like the knee high ones. :) They would also match with anything.
Wow, so much good feedback! Haha, Sara that is a good xkcd...so true. And Lydia, I'm loving military boots right now, too! Such a great look.
In an unprecedented moment of decisiveness, I went ahead and ordered the ones on the bottom left this morning. We'll see how they look when they get here in two days! VICTORY!
moccasins with fringe. obvs.
Let me know what size you are - I have those fringe minnetonka boots but want to sell them since I've only worn them thrice.
I also have those hiking bootesque ones too.. ha. yes. The fringe ones aren't waterproof/snowproof at all, although Ive showerproofed them with nubuck spray. I'd go for wellies, for Philly Winters!
