here's a book recommendation. do you have one for me?
Two weeks ago I read the book The Fault in Our Stars. I was supposed to save it for our North Carolina beach trip coming up in a week, but surprise! I couldn't stop myself from reading it. I also couldn't stop myself from sobbing through most it. Two kids with cancer fall in love and The Fault in Our Stars is their story. Is that the worst or what? It's very well written with some beautiful characters and contains this gem of a quote:
"I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, then all at once."
I'm very glad I read it. But now I have nothing to read on vacation except scientific papers and goodness knows how much I hate reading papers (much to the detriment of my graduate education, I'm sure). So...got any book recommendations? I've got $45 in Barnes and Noble gift cards, so what's worth buying? Or checking out from the library?
i have zero book recommendations. sorry. i barely have time to read anything these days besides textbooks. but, why is arthur so dang cool? seriously! we're in our 20's and I still find myself watching that show. ha.
also, thanks for the comment on my photos! you're so sweet!
I think you've already got mine, but just in case: Willpower The First 20 Minutes Welcome to Your Child's Brain.
Wow, I guess I've just been reading non-fiction lately. Hopefully someone else has some good fiction books to recommend if you're more in the mood for that!
I am sort of a John Green fan (had an internet fan crush on him for a while a few years ago, see: brothers 2.0)and my favorite book of his is 'An abdundance of Katherines' - I will bring it to church for you!
Did you ever read The Book Thief? I sobbed like a child at the end of that. It was amazingly good and so sad. Other recommendations: 1. Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison (it's a YA book and I know it's horribly childish to like it as much as I do, but I think it's hilarious). 2. Zorba the Greek by Nikos Kazantzakis. 3. As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner. 4. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell (if you haven't already; I also noticed someone else posted a book by him. They're not outstanding, but they're interesting, for sure). 5. Anything by C.S. Lewis or Arthur Conan Doyle. 6. If you can't seem to find anything, use whatshouldireadnext.com. It's pretty helpful.

LOVE that video :) Hmm...well, if you haven't already read all things Malcolm Gladwell, read Blink.
If you have, you should read A Homemade Life by Molly Wizenberg. She writes a lovely food blog and her book is a food memoir. I loved it.
